Blogs
are now one of the most common types of website found in internet. The
accessibility and reflective of nature of blog authoring means that they are
appropriate to many learning and teaching application, particularly in higher
education. It can be the catalyst that has students’ analyzing and synthesizing
course materials. With proper planning and appropriate curriculum, individual
students may also use blogs to find ways to apply new ideas and can therefore
layout the entire “learning journey” students have been on, helping them to
become more reflective about learning process.
Our
rationale is based upon the notion that the use of technology has the distinct
ability to create a more interactive classroom. So, we used this blog to
summarize what we have learned as well as for comparing and contrasting various
aspects of what we have internalized. As we begin to articulate our thoughts,
this blog helps us feel a sense of empowerment as we develop our voice. As we
noted about, blogging moves students forward in their thinking, it helps them
process the course materials to higher level of understanding. This includes
the eventual application of what we have learned within some practical context.
In order for this to happen, we assure that this blog will be used for such
purposes.
We
can compare this blog to a storage room because in this blog, we stored many different
ideas and informations that could help our next generations. It is like a
storing many things in one storage room in your house, thinking that sometime
you will need them. And time will come, you may forget about the things you gathered
if you do not look after and do not organize them. A storage room that is
occupied with many things that are unorganized is similar in having many
thoughts in one’s mind but have not checked, reflected and in ordered manner.
Moreover,
we found blogging useful to know others view and reflections; particularly
reading blogs of your group members are very functional. Reading of members’
views on events gives us another angle of vision. We could read and learn some
helpful points made by other group members, which were not notice by other
members.
To
conclude, our experiences with blogging enrich our ways of learning for some
perspectives of life. One cannot judge whether new ways of learning endows the
advantages and so on unless occurrence makes an appropriate conclusion. In our
case, experience reveals positive outcomes that are not limited to module
objectives. This enlarges us with skills of learning for lifelong intention.
“We
made this blog not only for a final to be submitted to our beloved professor
but also to share how the entire learning shakes out the living of an
individual.”
